Alanna Davis, OT

Alanna is a registered Occupational Therapist with a love of the great outdoors and a deep desire to share this with others. With the purchase of Larchwood Farm in 2016, the wheels began to turn and ideas started emerging. From the beginning Larchwood Farm Nature Camp was envisioned as a training centre for the MSc OT students. With a passion for student education it seemed natural for Alanna to dive into Nature OT and bring innovative, energetic students along for the ride. We are learning together in this emerging sector of nature-based OT. With over 14 years experience working in world renowned hospitals, cancer centres and rehabilitation facilities it was time to venture out into nature with kids at the centre of it. Join us as we bring to life Nature OT, both rurally and in the urban centre!

Sophie Wong

Sophie is our new Occupational Therapist Assistant and recently graduated with an undergraduate degree in Health Studies and a minor in Psychology at the University of Toronto. “It’s my goal to pursue a degree in Occupational Therapy in the near future. I am passionate about working with children as well as the neurodiverse community. I spent the last year of my undergrad in my placement where I provided one-on-one support for pre-school children with special needs. I learned the importance and the benefits that occupational therapy brings in enhancing individuals’ ability to achieve their goals.
I have had the opportunity to volunteer at the Larchwood camp where I fell in love with nature-based therapy. I believe sensory provided in nature is crucial in development, but also beneficial to our physical and mental health regardless of our age.
During my free time, I like to go on walks, play tennis, read, and explore! I am excited to join the Davis team and explore together what nature has to offer with the children and their families!"
